Safety, Health and Environment

The Health and Safety of our employees and others affected by our activities is our Number One priority. This is reflected in our stringent Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) training regime. Our aim is to ensure everyone working on our sites is fully trained and competent to carry out the tasks they undertake. This includes the management of environmental issues which we believe are of equal importance. A large portfolio of environmental and ecological courses are delivered each year – often by our own Environmental Advisors – as we ensure that our staff are fully informed and take all precautions possible to prevent environmental harm.

We do not just provide training to ensure that we fulfil our duties under SHE legislation; in fact our own minimum training requirements often exceed what is required under legislation. We provide a large amount of non-essential training to encourage individuals to improve their knowledge and competencies thereby ensuring that we have a highly trained, multi-talented, competent workforce. Furthermore, our own SHE team is encouraged and sponsored to undertake further studies with a view to becoming full members of the relevant professional body, for example Institute of Occupational Safety & Health or Institute of Environmental Management & Assessment.
